Ames is an illustrator, cartoonist, designer, and graphic novelist based in Vancouver, BC. They explore a wide range of interests in their work including nature, pop culture, fantasy and fiction, and the fickle nature of being a person. The foundation of their illustration and design work is based on their early training in traditional mediums such as watercolour and oil paints. 

Previous projects include FREDDIE MERCURY: SHADOWS ILLUMINATED and AMELIA AIERWOOD: BASIC WITCH with Z2COMICS, CLUCKY COMES HOME with Keiana Greene-Page, LET US IN with Oscar Osario, as well as personal projects such as the fan-webcomic STRUNG OUT HEART, ANGEL EYES and it's sequel SAFETY PINS & BROKEN HEARTS.

Ames is currently working fulltime as a Jr. Graphic Designer at Oddball Workshop & Supply. They are also open to freelance work particularly in book and comics illustration an can be reached at hello@amesliu.com
